What is your taste? Do you love food..or love to visit new places..or love poetry..or love the historical ones...?? This city I am talking about is itself filled with different tastes, flavours and cultures at one place. The biggest city of Uttar Pradesh and the 'Second Happiest City' in Indiajust after Chandigarh. (As per survey by IMRB International.)

Lets get into the most interesting City of India. The Lucknow City.


History

 Lucknow City first known as 'Lakshmanvati', then 'Lakhnauti' and finally 'Lakhnau'. Now spelled as Lucknow. This was named after the Legend Hero of epic Ramayana - The 'Lakshmana'.
Since 1350, Lucknow and some of the Awadh regions were ruled by the Delhi Sultanate, Mughal Empire, Nawabs of Awadh.
Lucknow was one of the Major centers of 'The Indian Rebellion of 1857'. And actively participated in the India's Independence Movement.


Centers of Attraction

There is not a single point of attraction in this colourful City. You can find an infinite varieties of things which are unique in there own way. Lets list out some of them....

      1. Chicken - Not that "Pak.Pak.Chicken" Yes Lucknow is known for the Chikankari, Zari, Zardizi, Kamdani, gota making. This 400 years old art work has its popularity all over the world. The quality that you can get here is just the magnificent one.

      2. Janeshwar Mishra Park, the Largest Park in Asia is situated in Lucknow. It has a man made Lake, India's longest Cycling and jogging track. Apart from this, you can visit Lohia Park, Ambedkar Park, Marine Drive..if you want to chill out and experience the beauty of this City.

      3. The Rumi Darwaza, serving as the entrance of Lucknow. It is also known as the 'Turkish Gateway'. Here you can find the Mughal Heritage and can experience the 'Heritage Walk' to 'Bada Imambada', Chattar Manzil, La Martinniere College / School, is one of the oldest school and is an example of perfect architecture.

      4. The Nawabi Style cuisine can attaract you with its smell from miles away. 'Tunde ke Kabab' is the oldest restaurant serving fro more than a century. Kabab's of Lucknow are not only limited to Lucknow or India but it has its reputation all over the world. Apart from famous Kabab, you can enjoy the world famous Chat, Kulfi and the Paan. Street Foods have a unique taste that will keep you craving for more.

      5. 'Lucknow Mahotsav' is a famous Festival celebrated and organised every year to showcase the Art, Culture and heritage of this City. This festival aims at promoting the tourism both national and international.

      6. The Classical dance 'Katthak' took shape in Lucknow.

      7. This city has number of educational and research organisations which includes IIM, IIT, Central Drug Research Institute, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia University, Lucknow University, and many more...

      8. Lucknow is the highest produces of Mangos and also the exporter of The 'Dashri'. Other major produce are Paddy, Sugarcane, Wheat..So now you know from where you get your sugar....

      9. The Lucknow Zoo is one of the oldest zoo in the country. It has the botanical garden with different varieties of Flora an Fauna.

     10. There is a State Museum, it contains the masterpieces from 3rd Century AD.


Ohhh God, there is soo much to explore about this city, but I am tired now. Why not make a trip plan to Lucknow and experience the collaboration of beauty and culture by yourself.
