The Land of Bird's Suicide
This sounds weird, that a beautiful creature of nature
who is a far away from the hectic life, filled with tensions of earning more
and more money, like we humans do, can commit suicide. These creatures teach us
humans how to 'fly light' in life, how to live a life.
Then what makes these birds to reach at such a level of mental/physical
pressure that they decide to give up there life.
About Jatinga
However there is not any solid proof that all the birds who are dying are due the killing of local peoples there.
One more theory was presented that the birds are not disturbed by the locals, but due to the dark northern sky they are attracted towards the light. The foggy night makes the flying birds path unclear and birds just smash with the buildings and trees resulting into ultimate death.
None of these theories are proven 100% correct. Thus this makes this place to still stand in the mysterious places in India, where the birds migrate to commit suicide with the local birds.
Jatinga is a small village situated at Dima
Hasao district of Assam in India. This place is around 330 Kms from
Guwahati. It is famous for the suicidal cases of birds made every
year. Yess..every year during end of Monsoon, dead birds falls from the sky.
This event takes place between 6 PM to 9:30 PM. It is very strange thing
that can not be expected by any layman.
People of Jatinga believes that the birds are attracted to
some magnetic force towards light and get hit from buildings, trees and die.
But this theory has not proven itself right. There were many misleading stories
made for these incidents, but none of them makes any sense.
When the studies were made the researches proved that
these were not suicide but a killing instead....
Facts Behind Birds Deaths
According to the studies made by the Ornithologist Mr.
Anwaruddin Chaudhary in Assam, these cases were pure killings of birds by the
locals of Jatinga. When birds are attaracted towards the light and they fly
towards them, these birds becomes an easy pray for the localieds in Jatinga.
They swing the bamboo poles and the flying birds gets hit and die.
What do you guys think. It just gives me a shock and pity feeling for the innocent birds.
