In our Indian culture temples have a very vital role which holds some of the religious stories and indulge soo much of treasure in themselves. You can find every temple has something very interesting story which is unfolded in itself. Today I am going to tell you about 'Shrinath Ji' temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan.

History

It is said that the the divine form of Srinathji is self manifested. During social and economic havoc in the region of Govardhan, the idol of Lord Krishna was moved from Govardhan. While crossing Rajasthan, the wheels of bullock cart sank in mud, even after too many efforts no one was able to move the axle of cart from its place. After applying all technical efforts people finally consulted local priests and it was summed up that "Lord Krishna has chosen this place for his stay" . And there after a temple was built there under supervision of Maharana Raj Singh ji of Mewar.

Temple was built by Goswami Priests and this temple is also known as Haveli of Shrinathji'. Whole Nathdwara got established around this Haveli/Palace.

Nathdwara is around 50 Km from Udaipur City in Rajasthan. On the way to Nathdwara from Udaipur you can have a visit to an another beautiful temple of Lord Shiva known as 'Ekling Ji'.
